Rincon/University is 0-10 against Tucson High Magnet School since April of 2018 but things could change on Monday. Meanwhile, while Tucson High Magnet School put up plenty of runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Buena. The Badgers were the clear victors by an 11-0 margin over the Colts. Considering the Badgers have won nine matches by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Tucson High Magnet School got a great performance from Evannie Flores as she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts Flores has posted since back in March.
On the hitting side, Sofia Trejo was a standout: she scored two runs while going 3-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Janice Hernandez, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI and one double.
Tucson High Magnet School hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.
Tucson High Magnet School pushed their record up to 15-8 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Rincon/University, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-14.
Monday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Rincon/University hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .334. However, it's not like Tucson High Magnet School struggles in that department as they've averaged .352. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
