The St. David's Warriors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matchups by 25 points or more this season. They breezed by Wake Christian Academy on the road to the tune of 60-27. The win was just what St. David's needed coming off of a 66-19 defeat in their prior game.
Rebecca Leshnock was her usual excellent self, scoring 21 points along with eight steals. Those 21 points set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Kate Benson, who scored 15 points along with seven steals.
Despite the defeat, Wake Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: Emma Crissman scored 17 points along with four steals. Crissman scored a full 63% of Wake Christian Academy's points, the 15th time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Caroline Hall was another key contributor, scoring five points along with nine rebounds and three blocks.
St. David's is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. As for Wake Christian Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-8.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. David's will take on Fayetteville Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Fayetteville Academy is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Wake Christian Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Oak Forest at 5:15 p.m.
