Randolph Southern was the victim of a tough 59-34 loss at the hands of Union City on Friday. Randolph Southern has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the defeat, Randolph Southern saw an underclassman step up: Noah Allen scored 13 points along with 7 rebounds. Allen scored a full 38.2% of Randolph Southern's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Trenton Jeffries, who scored 7 points along with 5 assists.
Even though they lost, Randolph Southern were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Union City only pulled down 21.
Union City can attribute much of their success to Conner Walser, who scored 22 points along with 5 rebounds and 4 steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Walser has scored at least 25% of Union City's points. Another player making a difference was Trendon Spence , who scored 17 points along with 6 rebounds and 3 steals.
Randolph Southern now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Union City, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-0.
