Baseball Recap: South Broward Comes Up Short

South Broward was the 4-0 winner over Pembroke Pines Charter when they last played one another back in March of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The South Broward Bulldogs fell just short of the Pembroke Pines Charter Jaguars by a score of 2-1 on Wednesday.

Joshua Jakubowicz was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out ten over 5.2 innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Christian Font was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-2. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in stolen bases.

South Broward now has a losing record of 3-4-1. As for Pembroke Pines Charter, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. South Broward will challenge Pembroke Pines Charter at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Pembroke Pines Charter, they will venture away from home to face off against Cooper City at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
