Leuzinger hasn't had much luck against Inglewood recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Olympians will square off against the Sentinels at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
On Friday, Leuzinger blew past Hawthorne, posting a 61-6 victory. Given the Olympians' advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 49th, while the Cougars are ranked 749th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Russell Sekona
09/26/25 @ Hawthorne | 177.1 |
08/29/25 vs Palmdale | 157.5 |
08/30/24 @ Paraclete | 156.3 |
09/27/24 vs Hawthorne | 149.3 |
11/01/24 vs Lawndale | 142.1 |
Russell Sekona and Kelton Strickland were among the main playmakers for Leuzinger as the former threw for 170 yards and four TDs on perfect 6-for-6 passing and the latter rushed for 87 yards and one touchdown. The dominant performance also gave Sekona a new career-high in passer rating (177.1). Jamaal Fay was in the mix too, providing Leuzinger with one score.
Leuzinger didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Sinamone Hola, Braylin Spencer, and Pakipole Moala picked up one apiece. Leuzinger received some extra help from Fay, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.
Meanwhile, the third road contest was the charm for Inglewood, as they earned their first away win of the season. They won a game that couldn't have been any closer, slipping by Midland 43-42. The victory almost wasn't to be: the Sentinels were down 28-8 in the second quarter.
Leuzinger better keep an eye on Semaj Welch. He was instrumental in Inglewood's win, rushing for 167 yards and four touchdowns on only 15 carries. Welch's longest rush was for an impressive 50 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Allen Wilson was another key player, picking up 93 receiving yards and one TD.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Inglewood was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 247 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 174 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.
The win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 2-3. As for Leuzinger, their record now sits at 3-1.
We should be in store for an exciting game as Leuzinger and Inglewood have no problem gaining yardage. The Olympians have been on an offensive roll this season, having averaged 365 total yards per game. However, it's not like Inglewood struggles in that department as they've been averaging 408.2 total yards. With a pair of commanding offenses duking it out, the defenses are going to have their work cut out for them.
Leuzinger came up short against Inglewood when the teams last played back in October of 2024, falling 34-29. Can the Olympians avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
