Ashland-Greenwood is 2-8 against Wahoo since February of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Ashland-Greenwood Bluejays will be home for the holidays to greet the Wahoo Warriors. Ashland-Greenwood will be looking to keep their 15-game home win streak (dating back to last season) alive.
Ashland-Greenwood has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matches by 27 points or more this season. They breezed by Milford at home to the tune of 65-30. Given Ashland-Greenwood's advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 39th, while Milford is ranked 199th), the result on Saturday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Ashland-Greenwood's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dawson Thies, who scored 15 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Thies has scored all season. Derek Tonjes was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Meanwhile, even though Wayne scored an imposing 60 points last Friday, Wahoo still came out on top. Wahoo strolled past Wayne with points to spare, taking the game 75-60. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Wahoo.
Wahoo got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Marcus Glock out in front who shot 4-for-8 from beyond the arc and dropped a double-double on 25 points and ten rebounds. That makes it five consecutive games in which Glock has scored at least 25% of Wahoo's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dylan Simons, who scored 17 points along with eight rebounds and four steals.
Ashland-Greenwood's win bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Wahoo, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1.
Ashland-Greenwood suffered a grim 54-32 defeat to Wahoo in their previous matchup back in February. Thankfully for Ashland-Greenwood, Kamron Kasischke (who scored 15 points along with five rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
