Tyler is 8-2 against Valley since December of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Tyler Knights will head out on the road to square off against the Valley Lumberjacks at 6:00 p.m. Tyler will be strutting in after a victory while Valley will be coming in after a defeat.
Last Tuesday, Tyler humbled Madonna with a 69-32 victory. The victory was just what Tyler needed coming off of a 75-54 defeat in their prior match.
Tyler's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Braeden Wall, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds and two blocks. Another player making a difference was Maleah Weber, who scored six points along with seven rebounds and six steals.
Meanwhile, Valley came up short against Frontier on Monday and fell 55-43. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Valley came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 86th in West Virginia, while Frontier is ranked 219th in Ohio).
Tyler's win bumped their record up to 8-12. As for Valley, they now have a losing record at 6-7.
Tyler strolled past Valley in their previous matchup back in December of 2022 by a score of 47-30. The rematch might be a little tougher for Tyler since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
