Pleasanton won the last time they faced Carrizo Springs, and things went their way on Friday, too. Everything came up roses for Pleasanton against Carrizo Springs as the team secured a 35-0 victory. Followers of Pleasanton probably expected little less of the team in a season in which they have collected five blowout victories.
Pleasanton's success was spearheaded by the efforts of junior Daniel Valadez, who rushed for 60 yards and 2 touchdowns, and senior Johnny Zamora, who passed for 214 yards and 1 touchdown. They received some extra help from freshman Joel Arevalo, whose 0 yards punt return for touchdown in the first quarter made for one of the game's most unforgettable moments.
The win bumped Pleasanton's record up to 5-0. The loss dropped Carrizo Springs' record to 1-4.
Next week Pleasanton take on King at 7:30 PM. Unlike Pleasanton, King will be limping in after taking a loss. Carrizo Springs will have some time to rest before their next match, which is against Poteet in two weeks at 7:30 PM.
