The T.R. Miller Tigers were the 59-47 winner over the Excel Panthers when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. T.R. Miller was just a bucket shy of victory on Monday and fell 42-41 to Excel. T.R. Miller has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the loss, T.R. Miller still got an impressive performance from Heath Kirkland, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 10 rebounds. Kirkland scored a full 56.1% of T.R. Miller's points, the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Brodie Anthony was another key contributor, scoring 5 points along with 7 rebounds.
T.R. Miller's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Excel, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.
T.R. Miller will face off against Flomaton at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Excel, they will be playing at home against Leroy at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
