The Hurricane Redskins had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 29.6 points), and they went ahead and made it six on Friday. They took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 89-7 win over South Charleston. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 69-0.
Noah Vellaithambi went supernova for Hurricane, rushing for 103 yards and three touchdowns, while also throwing for 40 yards and a touchdown while completing 100% of his passes. Vellaithambi is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last four games he's played. Jai?den Smith also deserves a mention for his punt return touchdown.
Hurricane's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB ten times. South Charleston's QB won't forget Aaron Clark anytime soon given Clark sacked him ten times.
Hurricane's win bumped their record up to 8-1. As for South Charleston, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-9.
Hurricane will head out on the road to face off against Huntington at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Huntington is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. As for South Charleston, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Capital at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Capital is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
