The Salisbury Elk Lick Elks stacked a sixth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Thursday. They took their contest on the road with ease, bagging a 61-28 win over Shanksville Stonycreek. The victory was familiar territory for Salisbury Elk Lick who now have three in a row.
Salisbury Elk Lick's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Drake Sellers led the charge by scoring 17 points along with eight rebounds and eight blocks. Sellers hasn't dropped below two blocks for three straight games. Lance Jones was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with three steals.
Braxton Newman and Grant Boozer certainly did their best on Thursday to try and avoid the loss. Newman scored ten points, while Boozer scored six points along with nine rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Newman has scored all season.
Even though they lost, Shanksville Stonycreek smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Salisbury Elk Lick only pulled down five offensive rebounds.
Salisbury Elk Lick has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. As for Shanksville Stonycreek, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-5.
Salisbury Elk Lick will take on Hyndman Charter School at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hyndman Charter School is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak. As for Shanksville Stonycreek, they will head out on the road to take on Ferndale at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Pennsylvania (Ferndale is ranked 581st, while Shanksville Stonycreek is ranked 570th).
