Troy is 8-2 against Lapwai since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Trojans will challenge the Wildcats at 4:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Troy has four straight victories, Lapwai has 23 straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Troy barely beat Clearwater Valley the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Trojans put the hurt on the Rams with a sharp 17-8 win on Friday. The Trojans not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since April 8th (when they won 23-0).

Javan Barton made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over five innings while giving up four earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in four of his six plate appearances with two RBI, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, Troy got a massive performance out of Rowan Tyler, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those four RBI gave Tyler a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Dominic Holden, who got on base in five of his six plate appearances with three runs and one double.
Troy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last four times Lapwai and Kendrick have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Friday. The Wildcats lost 17-1 to the Tigers.
Lapwai saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Arlondo Lopez, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one RBI. That hit marked the first that Lopez has got this season.
Lapwai's defeat dropped their record down to 0-11. As for Troy, their victory bumped their record up to 9-7.
Monday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Troy has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .458. However, it's not like Lapwai struggles in that department as they've averaged .503. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Troy's way against Lapwai when the teams last played back in May of 2024, as Troy made off with a 19-5 win. Do the Trojans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wildcats turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
