Liberty had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the seven-run drubbing they dealt Broomfield on Monday. The Lions were the clear victors by a 9-2 margin over the Eagles. The result was nothing new for the Lions, who have now won four matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

The victory was the third in a row for Liberty, bringing their record up to 7-4. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Broomfield, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Liberty has already played their next contest, a 9-2 victory against Lone Grove on the 17th. As for Broomfield, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 19-0 win against Putnam City on the 17th.
