The North Creek Jaguars will face off against the Hazen Highlanders at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (North Creek has 13 straight wins, Hazen has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
North Creek is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Washington's top teams: Mount Si, who was ranked 19th at the time (North Creek was ranked third). The Jaguars came out on top against the Wildcats by a score of 11-7 on Wednesday.

Reagan Fleming was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out 13 batters over seven innings while giving up five earned (and two unearned) runs off ten hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-4.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kendall James, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Addy Cook, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.
Meanwhile, Hazen came up short against Cedarcrest on Wednesday, falling 28-3.
North Creek pushed their record up to 13-0 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Hazen, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-9.
Hazen's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: North Creek has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.6 hits per game. It's a different story for Hazen, though, as they've been averaging 11.6 hits. Given North Creek's sizable advantage in that area, the Highlanders will need to find a way to close that gap.
North Creek took their victory against Hazen in their previous matchup back in March by a conclusive 26-0 score. Do the Jaguars have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Highlanders turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
