There wasn't a ton of movement in the power rankings this week, but there was certainly enough to keep things interesting. There's a new number one at the head of the rankings as well as a new caboose.
Can't Touch This
Lausanne Collegiate's 55 - 14 win over St. George's last week had a lot to do with the leadership of senior Eric Gray. Gray rushed for 198 yards and five touchdowns. That performance made Gray one of the best players in the power rankings last week.
This Week's Big Showdown
One of last week's main attractions was the confrontation between Oakland and Blackman, 5th and 10th in the power rankings, respectively. Oakland finished its game with a 24 - 14 win. One star in particular for it was senior Xavier Myers, who earned three touchdowns and 160 yards rushing the ball.
Movin on Up
Ravenwood not only got the result it was looking for last game, but the team outscored its opponent Father Ryan in every quarter. Ravenwood took its game against Father Ryan by a confident 35 - 14 score. Ravenwood especially relied on junior Tony Rice, who rushed for 104 yards and scored on one reception, and junior Brian Garcia, who tossed the ball for 283 yards and three TDs. Ravenwood's success was rewarded with a seven-spot boost in the power rankings, the biggest improvement of any team.
Next Week's Big Game
The big showdown in the power rankings this week is between Henry County (23rd in the power rankings) and Germantown (11th). Both teams are coming in hot off of wins in their previous games. Germantown and Henry County both have plenty of landslide victories under their belts (Germantown with six and Henry County with four), but only one can come away triumphant this week. We'll find out who that is soon.
