The Mar Vista Mariners will look to defend their home court on Monday against the Fallbrook Warriors at 6:30 p.m. Mar Vista is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.
Last Friday, Mar Vista was beaten by the Titans 75-43. While losing is never fun, Mar Vista can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 730th, while the Titans are ranked 324th).
Meanwhile, Fallbrook blew past the Red Devils, posting a 56-25 win on the road. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Fallbrook.
Malaki Brotherton was his usual excellent self, scoring 11 points along with eight rebounds and six assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Samuel Carmona, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds and four blocks.
Mar Vista has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-11 record this season. As for Fallbrook, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-13 record this season.
Mar Vista didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against the Warriors in their previous meeting back in November of 2022, but they still walked away with a 64-58 victory. Will Mar Vista repeat their success, or do the Warriors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
