The Minor Tigers typically have all the answers at home, but on Tuesday the Parker Thundering Herd proved too difficult a challenge. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Tigers and snuck past 57-54. The win was familiar territory for Parker who now have three in a row.
Parker's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jaydon White, who scored 19 points. Nathen Henley was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Despite the defeat, Minor saw an underclassman step up: Isaiah Mcclain scored 20 points along with five assists and two steals. Mcclain has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Carmelo Burroughs, who scored 11 points along with nine rebounds.
Parker is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 20-8 record this season. As for Minor, their loss dropped their record down to 16-8.
Parker will look to defend their home court on Friday against Homewood at 7:30 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Alabama (Homewood is ranked 16th, while Parker is ranked 32nd). As for Minor, they will head out on the road to face off against Jackson-Olin at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Jackson-Olin has now lost 22 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 7.
