Cambridge Academy has been on the road for two straight, but on Thursday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Ninety Six Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Monday, everything went Cambridge Academy's way against Greenwood Christian as Cambridge Academy made off with a 48-27 victory. The victory was just what Cambridge Academy needed coming off of a 62-37 defeat in their prior match.
Cambridge Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Alex Cockrell out in front who scored 13 points along with 5 steals. Zaylee Landmesser was another key contributor, scoring 10 points.
Meanwhile, Ninety Six had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They took down McCormick 53-36.
Janiyah Squire was the offensive standout of the matchup as she dropped a double-double on 24 points and 14 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Samya McBride, who scored 4 points along with 18 rebounds.
The losses dropped Cambridge Academy to 1-1 and Greenwood Christian to 1-2.
