The Hazelwood Central Hawks will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Oakwood Academy Mustangs at 5:30 p.m. Hazelwood Central will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
On January 9th, Hazelwood Central didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Kirkwood, but they still walked away with a 43-37 victory. Despite the victory, that was the fewest points Hazelwood Central has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Oakwood Academy pushed their score all the way to 59 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 78-59 bruising from Woodville. Oakwood Academy was down 61-39 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Oakwood Academy's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Nathan Nesbitt, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds, and Jaiden Morton who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Will Lewis, who scored eight points.
Hazelwood Central pushed their record up to 7-4 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. As for Oakwood Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 10-12.
