The Hampton Hawks will be home for the holidays to greet the Lawrence-Nelson Raiders on Thursday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
On Tuesday, Hampton took a serious blow against Meridian, falling 56-23. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Hampton in their matchups with Meridian: they've now lost seven in a row.
Meanwhile, Lawrence-Nelson's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They were dealt a 59-12 loss at the hands of Shelton. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Lawrence-Nelson has scored all season.
Hampton bumped their record down to 1-6 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Lawrence-Nelson, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5.
Hampton strolled past Lawrence-Nelson in their previous meeting back in February of 2017 by a score of 50-35. Will Hampton repeat their success, or does Lawrence-Nelson have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
