Scott has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the Ryle Raiders at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
Scott pushed their score all the way to 57 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They lost to George Rogers Clark at home by a decisive 73-57 margin. While losing is never fun, Scott can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 111th, while the Cardinals are ranked 13th).
Despite their loss, Scott saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Xarek Sarakatsannis, who scored 12 points, was perhaps the best of all. Another player making a difference was Connor Griffin, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, Ryle unfortunately witnessed the end of their eight-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell 65-52 to Highlands.
Scott now has a losing record at 11-12. As for Ryle, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-7.
Scott didn't have too much breathing room in their match against the Raiders in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, but they still walked away with a 64-60 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Scott since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
