Softball Recap: Tuesday's Win Is South Central's Ninth in Last Ten Outings

South Central came out on top against J.H. Rose on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run fifth inning. The Falcons put the hurt on the Rampants with a sharp 12-4 victory. The result was nothing new for the Falcons, who have now won seven contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Kailey Garner was incredible, going a perfect 5-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those five hits gave her a new career-high. Kamdyn Haislip was another key player, going 3-for-5 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

South Central was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .405. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .405 or higher in four consecutive matches.

South Central is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.4 runs on average over those games. As for J.H. Rose, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-10.

South Central and J.H. Rose should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings. The Falcons will challenge Swansboro at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday with a big rank advantage (72 vs. 215). Meanwhile, J.H. Rose (ranked 181st) will meet Hunt (ranked 382nd) at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
