Rye extended their winning streak to four on Monday, bumping them up to 11-10. They were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Peyton Panthers. Considering the Thunderbolts have won eight games by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Branson Burbidge was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Burbidge was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one double. Rye is undefeated when Burbidge posts two or more runs, but 4-10 otherwise.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Pierce Burris, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs and one stolen base. He is becoming a predictor of Rye's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 7-1 (and 4-9 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Max Rocha, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Rye will challenge Front Range Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Thunderbolts' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Falcons have averaged an impressive 9.1 runs per game this season.
