Basketball Recap: Falls Lake Piles Up the Points Against River Mill

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Falls Lake). They really took it to the River Mill Jaguars for the full four quarters, racking up a 68-27 win. With that victory, the Firebirds brought their scoring average up to 52 points per game.

Jonathan Taylor- Hamilton was his usual excellent self, going 9 of 13 on his way to 23 points and eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Camden Fields, who went 7 of 9 on his way to 16 points.

Falls Lake smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in four consecutive contests.

Defeat or not, River Mill got some senior leadership from Jackson Osborne and Jessie Bruner. Osborne posted eight points, while Bruner had seven points.

Falls Lake's win bumped their record up to 2-4. As for River Mill, they dropped their record down to 0-7 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Falls Lake didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 70-49 defeat against East Wake Academy on the 6th. As for River Mill, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 70-56 loss against Cornerstone Charter on the 4th.
