After a string of six wins, the Parkville Knights's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 66-61 hit to the loss column at the hands of Dundalk. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Parkville came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 70th, while the Owls are ranked 231st).
Despite the loss, Parkville still got an impressive performance from Mikko Persia, who scored 27 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Persia has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Cameron Alexander, who scored 21 points.
Parkville's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-4. As for Dundalk, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-8.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Parkville will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against the Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on February 5th. Hopefully Aberdeen focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 last Wednesday. As for Dundalk, they will head out on the road to face off against the Millers at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
