The Greene County Tech Golden Eagles will head out on the road to challenge the Batesville Pioneers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Greene County Tech will be looking to extend their current 12-game winning streak.
Last Friday, Greene County Tech faced the Raiders in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Greene County Tech narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Raiders 40-38.
Greene County Tech got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Myiah Butler out in front who almost dropped a double-double on 14 rebounds and nine blocks. Another player making a difference was Jacey Edrington, who scored 11 points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Batesville didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against the Blazers on Friday, but they still walked away with a 54-48 win.
Greene County Tech's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-5. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.0 points per game. As for Batesville, they now have a winning record of 10-9.
Everything went Greene County Tech's way against the Pioneers in their previous matchup back in January as the Golden Eagles made off with a 57-36 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Greene County Tech since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
