The Provine Rams were the 23-12 winner over the Natchez Bulldogs when they last played one another back in September of 2016, but their luck changed this time around. Provine fell 30-18 to Natchez on Friday. Provine's defeat continues a unfortunate trend for the team, making it three in a row.
Among those leading the charge was Je'kari Douglas, who picked up 84 receiving yards and a touchdown, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Natchez also got help from Ken Chatman who showed off his sure hands for 105 receiving yards.
Provine's defeat dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Natchez, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 5-5 record this season.
Provine will be playing at home against Florence at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Florence will be hoping to continue their four-game streak of scoring more points each matchup than the last. As for Natchez, they will head out on the road to face off against Brookhaven at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Mississippi (Brookhaven is ranked 69th, while Natchez is ranked 85th).
