The Forest Lake Christian Falcons will head out on the road to square off against the Delta Saints at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Forest Lake Christian has now lost 18 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 30.
Last Tuesday, Forest Lake Christian suffered a tough 74-49 defeat at the hands of the Wildfires. Forest Lake Christian was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-20.
Forest Lake Christian's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Caleb Fenton, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds, and Brendan Hooper who scored 18 points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Hezekiah Schneider, who scored five points along with five assists.
Meanwhile, Delta pushed their score all the way to 73 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They received a tough blow as they fell 92-73 to Encina Prep. Delta's defeat continues an unfortunate trend for the squad, making it five in a row.
Delta's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Lucas Keller, who scored 33 points along with eight rebounds, and Max Danila who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Keller has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin McAllister, who scored nine points.
Even though they lost, Delta smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Encina Prep only pulled down two offensive rebounds.
Forest Lake Christian dropped their record down to 2-18 with that defeat, which was their eighth straight at home. As for Delta, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-15 record this season.
Things could have been worse for Forest Lake Christian, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 59-42 loss to the Saints when the teams last played back in January. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Keller, who scored 22 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Now that Forest Lake Christian knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
