Acton-Boxborough and Easton Area are an even 3-3 against one another since April of 2015, but likely not for long. The Revolution will be playing at home against the Rovers at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Easton Area took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Acton-Boxborough, who comes in off a win.
On Thursday, it was close, but Acton-Boxborough sidestepped Concord-Carlisle for a 6-5 victory.
Jackson Healy was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out six batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
In other batting news, Leo Ciccone was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs.
Meanwhile, Easton Area came up short against Northampton on Wednesday, falling 11-5.
Like Acton-Boxborough, Easton Area also got a great game from a two-way player: Khamryn Singto. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Furthermore, Singto didn't allow a single walk, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in March. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Kurtis Crossman was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles and one run. Max Martenis also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.
Acton-Boxborough has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Easton Area, their loss dropped their record down to 8-6.
