South Loup's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 56-29 loss at the hands of Arcadia/Loup City. South Loup was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-12.
Despite the loss, South Loup still got an impressive performance from Bryn Schwarz, who scored 17 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. That was a full 58.6% of South Loup's points, marking the 12th time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
South Loup has not been sharp recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season. As for Arcadia/Loup City, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-9.
South Loup on the road again on Thursday and play against Ansley/Litchfield at 6:00 p.m. on January 18th. Ansley/Litchfield is on a three-game streak of home losses, South Loup a six-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. Arcadia/Loup City will take on Ravenna at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Ravenna aren't just struggling at home either: they haven't won a game anywhere since January 4th.
