White Pine hasn't had much luck against Lake Mead Christian Academy recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Bobcats will face off against the Eagles at 1:00 p.m. White Pine is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10 runs per game this season.
White Pine came up short against Needles two weeks ago, falling 13-3. The Bobcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

White Pine saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dylan Cessford, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. The Bobcats are 7-2 when Cessford posts two or more stolen bases, but 4-7 otherwise. Another was Tucker Maestes, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.
Meanwhile, Lake Mead Christian Academy came tearing into Wednesday's matchup with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13.1 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They blew past Boulder City 12-1. Lake Mead Christian Academy might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 15 games by ten runs or more this season.
Cameron LaPres made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and one run.
In other batting news, Lake Mead Christian Academy got a massive performance out of Bowe Farmer, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Farmer is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played. Cooper Garrett was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Lake Mead Christian Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .545 or higher in three consecutive contests.
Lake Mead Christian Academy pushed their record up to 18-1 with the victory, which was their tenth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.2 runs over those games. As for White Pine, their loss dropped their record down to 11-9.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. White Pine has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 6.2 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Lake Mead Christian Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 4.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
White Pine might still be hurting after the 16-1 defeat they got from Lake Mead Christian Academy in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Bobcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
