The Hobart Brickies can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They walked away with a 60-50 win over Calumet New Tech. The victory was just what Hobart needed coming off of a 73-41 defeat in their prior contest.
Anthony Hnilo was his usual excellent self, scoring 21 points along with five assists. Another player making a difference was Felix Lopez, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds.
Calumet New Tech's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Eric Allen, who scored six points along with five assists and three steals. Allen is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. John Hudson was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Hobart's victory bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Calumet New Tech, their loss was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hobart will take on River Forest at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully River Forest focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Saturday. As for Calumet New Tech, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Whiting at 7:00 p.m.
