Orange Glen moved up to 520 from 647 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Valley. The Patriots climbed the ranks as a result of falling to Mt. Carmel 27-0.
Valley Center took down San Marcos 51-6 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Kory Fox and Robbie Halliburton gave the Sundevils a balanced attack through the air and ground last week. Fox threw for 111 yards and one touchdown, while Halliburton ran for 125 yards. Teammate Davion Fuller added to the ground attack by rushing for 39 yards.
Brett Johnson made the biggest impact on defense this week as Del Norte bested Rancho Bernardo. The 6-foot-1 defensive lineman racked up one sack.
Chadbourne Wetzel was the best wideout in the league this week as the Nighthawks defeated the Broncos. Wetzel racked up seven receptions for 93 yards. Mark Gallant helped Del Norte's passing attack out by catching one ball for five yards.
Thanks to the talents of Drew Olson and Cory McKesson the Knights have been able to do all sorts of things on offense. Olson leads the league in passing with 1156 yards, while McKesson has rushed for 595 yards this season. Mt. Carmel's Tevin Malone leads the league in receiving yards with 400 on 12 catches.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Valley Center takes on second place Mt. Carmel. Last week, the Jaguars topped San Marcos, while John Anderson's team beat Orange Glen.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when the Sundevils take on Valley Center. Mt. Carmel has allowed 140 points this season, while Rob Gilster's team has given up 126. The Sundevils allowed 0 points last week as they beat Kris Plash's team.
The Jaguars led Valley in scoring this week after putting up 51 points on Jason Texler's team.
