Platteview is 8-2 against Ashland-Greenwood since January of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Platteview Trojans will head out on the road to face off against the Ashland-Greenwood Bluejays at 5:06 p.m. Platteview is looking to tack on another W to their seven-game streak on the road.
Last Monday, Platteview was able to grind out a solid victory over Beatrice, taking the game 43-35. Given Platteview's advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 44th, while Beatrice is ranked 164th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Jaxon Adams was his usual excellent self, scoring 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Elijah Steele, who scored nine points along with two blocks.
Meanwhile, Ashland-Greenwood stacked a ninth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Monday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Ralston 78-39 at home. Ashland-Greenwood's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Platteview is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. Ashland-Greenwood's record now sits at 12-2.
Platteview beat Ashland-Greenwood 60-52 when the teams last played back in January of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Platteview since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
