Rantoul hadn't done well against Villa Grove recently (they were 0-5 in their previous five matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Eagles walked away with a 7-2 win over the Blue Devils. For the Eagles, this counts as revenge for the 9-2 victory the Blue Devils walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.

Rantoul has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-13 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games. As for Villa Grove, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-9 record this season.

Rantoul will be playing in front of their home fans against Centennial at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Villa Grove, they will take on Fisher at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
