5A Special District 3 recap November 5, 2013
Andrew Park of Marist ran for the longest rushing play in 5A Special District 3 this season against Wilson last week. Park ran for 82 yards on the play and finished with 233 on the day as his team topped the Trojans.
Marist took down Wilson 48-6 last week, the largest margin of any game. Park ran for 233 yards during the win.
Frank Geske's team's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Brody Cooper threw for 183 and 2 touchdowns and Austin Tyner had 138 yards receiving. Dustin Jones helped Marist's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 25 yards.
Park was a beast in the backfield as the Spartans defeated Ken Dulio's team.
Park was a passing and rushing force as Marist topped the Trojans. Park's favorite target this week was Tyner, who caught 8 passes for 138 yards.
He was 10-13 with 0 interceptions.
Cooper put up the best numbers through the air as the Spartans defeated Wilson.
Marist's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Spartans feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Cooper has thrown for 1,354 yards and 14 touchdowns this season, while Jones has 35 catches for 553 yards.
Churchill made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 7,156 from 8,392. The advance stemmed from a 34-21 victory over Parkrose last week.
