After two weeks on the road, Winnisquam is heading back home. They will square off against Franklin at 1:00 PM on Saturday. Winnisquam have bulldozed their previous three opponents, so Franklin might have their hands full.
Winnisquam might be getting used to good results now that the squad has six wins in a row. They won the matchup and then some against Bishop Brady last Saturday, taking the matchup 40-13. Winnisquam found their leader in underclassman sophomore Philip Nichols, who rushed for 82 yards and 2 touchdowns. If you haven't heard Nichols's name lately, then you haven't been paying much attention: he has loomed large in their past six games.
Meanwhile, Franklin were averaging 33 points per game entering their game last Saturday, but they just couldn't find their rhythm against Newfound Regional. Franklin lost to Newfound Regional by a decisive 0-18 margin. Franklin's loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.
Winnisquam ended up a good deal behind Franklin when they played the last time the two teams met, losing 0-20. Maybe Winnisquam will have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back on MaxPreps for all the details.
