Orangewood Christian has gone 6-1 against Foundation Academy recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. On Thursday, Orangewood Christian made easy work of The Master's Academy and carried off a 3-0 win.
Orangewood Christian never let The Master's Academy on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. The final score came out to 25-17, 25-16, 25-22.
Orangewood Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Olivia Sosa led the charge by getting nine digs and two assists.
Orangewood Christian was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in 17 consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Foundation Academy got the win against The Villages Charter on Monday by a conclusive 3-0.
The match came down to the wire multiple times:two sets needed extra rallies to declare a winner. The match finished with set scores of 26-24, 29-27, 25-22.
Orangewood Christian better focus on containing Kaitlyn Hatfield and Luna Dela Cruz as the pair were huge in Foundation Academy's win. Hatfield had 12 digs, while Dela Cruz had 23 digs and two assists. The dominant performance also gave Dela Cruz a new career-high in kills (two).
Orangewood Christian's victory bumped their record up to 19-4. As for Foundation Academy, their win bumped their record up to 20-3.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Tuesday's matchup: Orangewood Christian has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 7.4 aces per game. However, it's not like Foundation Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 9.2 aces.
