The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Liberty HomeSchool Alliance in their matchups with Newton HomeSchool: they've now lost three in a row.
Newton HomeSchool found their leader in underclassman Ella Renninger, who scored 22 points along with seven steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Renninger has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Rachel Graham, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Liberty HomeSchool Alliance's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Newton HomeSchool, their victory bumped their record up to 3-5.
Liberty HomeSchool Alliance will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Reno County HomeSchool on February 2nd. Reno County HomeSchool has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 2. As for Newton HomeSchool, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Wichita HomeSchool at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Wichita HomeSchool is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
