Cheyenne Mountain extended their home winning streak to four games thanks to a huge performance from Kaisa Dowd. The Red-Tailed Hawks put the hurt on Air Academy with a sharp 3-0 victory on Thursday thanks in part to Dowd, who had six kills, five digs, and three aces. She is on a roll when it comes to kills, as she's now had five or more in each of the last six games she's played.
The final score came out to 25-12, 25-17, 25-10.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Cheyenne Mountain to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brynn Ressler, who had eight digs and two aces. What's more, Ressler posted four assists, the most she's had since back in November of 2024.
They weren't the only good servers: Cheyenne Mountain was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 18 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least seven aces in eight consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Lutheran got the win against Discovery Canyon on Thursday by a conclusive 3-0. The win continues a trend for the Lions in their matchups with the Thunder: they've now won seven in a row.
Lutheran walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the first set). Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-21, 25-21.
Lutheran's win came from a few key players Cheyenne Mountain will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Madeline Miller, who had nine digs and seven assists.
Lutheran's win bumped their record up to 9-3. As for Cheyenne Mountain, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Tuesday's match: Cheyenne Mountain has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 9.7 aces per game. However, it's not like Lutheran struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 8.5 aces.
