Baseball Recap: Douglass Continues Home Dominance on Friday

Douglass won the last time they faced Oxon Hill and things went their way on Friday too. The Eagles blew past the Clippers 12-2. Considering the Eagles have won nine matchups by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Kayden Wilkins and Marshall Barnes made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Wilkins struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Barnes tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those seven strikeouts gave Wilkins a new career-high. At the plate, Wilkins got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs, while Barnes got on base in two of his four plate appearances with four stolen bases and one run. Wilkins is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged two or more in each of the last three games he's played.

In other batting news, Arrington Price, III was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more stolen bases the last three times he's played. Jordan Williams Jr was another key player, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and one run.

Douglass pushed their record up to 11-3 with the win, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.1 runs on average over those games. As for Oxon Hill, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.
