The Whitefield Academy WolfPack will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Rabun County Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. Whitefield Academy will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Whitefield Academy walked away with it. They took down Darlington 28-14 on Friday.
Callum Neese was the offensive standout of the match as he rushed for 36 yards and three touchdowns. Mason Hollingsworth was another key contributor, rushing for 80 yards and a touchdown on only 11 carries.
Meanwhile, Rabun County put the finishing touches on their seventh blowout victory of the season on Friday. They blew past Social Circle 49-14 on the road. With Rabun County ahead 35-7 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Rabun County found their leader in underclassman Reid Giles, who rushed for 180 yards and three touchdowns on only 11 carries. Giles was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 61 yards. Another player making a difference was Ty Truelove, who threw for 154 yards and two touchdowns.
Whitefield Academy has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-5 record this season. As for Rabun County, their win bumped their record up to 8-3.
Whitefield Academy was dealt a bruising 38-7 loss at the hands of Rabun County in their previous meeting back in September. Can Whitefield Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
