The Minneapolis Southwest Lakers will be home for the holidays to greet the Rockford Rockets at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Minneapolis Southwest will be looking to keep their six-game home win streak (dating back to last season) alive.
Last Tuesday, Minneapolis Southwest made easy work of North Community and carried off a 73-49 win.
Meanwhile, Rockford scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They blew past Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted, posting a 64-27 victory on the road. The win was some much needed relief for Rockford as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Rockford's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Evelyn Engebretson, who scored 11 points. Another player making a difference was Mae Weiss, who scored eight points.
Minneapolis Southwest's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Rockford, their win ended a eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-4.
Minneapolis Southwest didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Rockford in their previous matchup back in December of 2021, but they still walked away with a 39-33 victory.
