The Hoehne Farmers will take on the Rye Thunderbolts at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hoehne is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.
Having struggled with four losses in a row, Hoehne turned things around against Del Norte on Tuesday. They walked away with a 9-4 victory over the Tigers.
Jacob Magninat spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered four earned runs on eight hits.

At the plate, Anthony Sandoval was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. He is becoming a predictor of Hoehne's success: when he posts at least three hits the team is 2-1 (and 4-9-1 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Lopez, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.
Meanwhile, Rye made easy work of Rangely on Saturday and carried off a 19-3 win.
Pierce Burris was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Max Rocha, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Nathan Gray, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Rye always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Rye's victory bumped their record up to 8-10. As for Hoehne, their win bumped their record up to 6-10-1.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Hoehne has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.1 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Rye struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Hoehne couldn't quite get it done against Rye in their previous meeting back in April of 2025 as they fell 6-1. Will the Farmers have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other baseball content.
