Meanwhile, Berryman tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. That's the first time Cherry hasn't allowed a single hit since back in March of 2024. At bat, Cherry scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 3-for-3, while Berryman scored a run and stole Three bases. while going 1-for-3. What's more, Cherry posted two doubles, the most she's had since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Madison Joyner, who scored a run and stole Three bases. while going 1-for-2. The team also got some help courtesy of Hannah Slaughter, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
Meanwhile, after only one run in their last contest, Ahoskie Christian made sure to put some runs up on the board against Northeast Academy on Monday. Everything went Ahoskie Christian's way against Northeast Academy as Ahoskie Christian made off with a 15-1 victory. Ahoskie Christian hasn't had any issues with Northeast Academy recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.
Kinsley Dunlow was a major factor no matter where she played. She tossed five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Dunlow was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. Dunlow is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season.
In other batting news, Lilli Farmer was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-3. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Myah Bradley, who scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
Ahoskie Christian now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Ridgecroft, they now also have a winning record of 2-1.
Monday's match might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Ridgecroft has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .467. However, it's not like Ahoskie Christian struggles in that department as they've averaged .484. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Ridgecroft's way against Ahoskie Christian when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Ridgecroft made off with a 19-9 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Ridgecroft since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
