The biggest upset of the week belonged to Lutheran, who took down 81st ranked Evergreen, 29-7. James Willis threw for 159 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 23 yards in the win.
Arvada was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fifth to third in 3A Metro - West. Earlier in the week, the Bulldogs defeated Alameda 41-0.
Cody Marvel provided a threat through the air and on the ground as D'Evelyn lost to Conifer. He completed 27 passes for 341 yards and one touchdown and also ran for 137 yards. Marvel's favorite target this week was Connor Skelton, who caught eight passes for 124 yards.
Matthew McClintock was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 25 carries, he ran for 296 yards as the Lobos lost to the Lobos. Aj Eleniewski also contributed to the rushing game with 139 yards on the ground.
John Martinez put up the best numbers through the air as Arvada bested the Pirates. He finished with a total of 18 completions for 212 yards and three touchdowns. Martinez's favorite target this week was Taylor Vaughn, who caught four passes for 83 yards.
D'Evelyn's Marvel and Skelton have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Marvel has thrown for 1350 yards this season, while Skelton, a 6-foot-1 receiver, has 38 catches for 884 yards. McClintock from Conifer leads the league in rushing with 765 yards.
A big matchup in 3A Metro - West this week will be when the Lions take on Tom Baker's team. Lutheran is in second place, while the Bulldogs are in third place.
Arvada took down Alameda 41-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Martinez ran for four yards in the win.
