The Frederick Cadets will head out on the road to take on the Brunswick Railroaders at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Frederick is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road.
Last Friday, Frederick was able to grind out a solid win over Urbana, taking the game 48-38. Given Frederick's advantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 28th, while Urbana is ranked 125th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Brunswick can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They took their matchup on the road with ease, bagging a 55-24 win over St. James. The victory was just what Brunswick needed coming off of a 61-21 loss in their prior match.
Andie Welsh and Gabby Stefanic were among the main playmakers for Brunswick as the former dropped a double-double on 12 points and 20 rebounds and the latter dropped a double-double on 29 points and ten steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Stefanic has scored all season. Aeriana Carter was another key contributor, scoring three points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Frederick's victory bumped their record up to 10-1. As for Brunswick, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-7.
Everything came up roses for Frederick against Brunswick in their previous meeting back in December of 2016 as the team secured a 63-25 victory. With Frederick ahead 35-11 at the half, the match was all but over already.
