Jackson extended their winning streak to four on Tuesday, bumping their season record up to 13-2 in the process. Everything went their way against the West Deptford Eagles as they made off with a 10-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Ironman/Ironladies, who have now won ten games by six runs or more so far this season.
Serenity Taylor looked comfortable as she struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Maddie Wright, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Brynlee Smalley also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.
Jackson was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as West Deptford only posted a batting average of .192.
As for West Deptford, their loss was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-6. Having soared to a lofty 16 runs in the game before, they couldn't push the score so high this time.
