Pendleton has been on the road for two straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will face off against the West-Oak Warriors at 7:00 p.m. That match will pit two of the most dominant setters against one another: Taylor Ray and Ashton Sosby.
Pendleton came up short against St. Joseph's Catholic on Tuesday, falling 3-0.
The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-14, 25-14.
Defeat or not, Pendleton got some senior leadership from Payton Koontz and Ray. Koontz had 16 digs and six kills, while Ray had 17 assists and 10 digs.
Meanwhile, West-Oak got the win against GREEN Upstate on Thursday by a conclusive 3-0.
Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: West-Oak took every set by at least 10 points. Once all was said and done, the final set scores wound up at 25-15, 25-12, 25-10.
West-Oak's win came from a few key players Pendleton will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Emma Simpson, who had seven kills, five aces, and three digs. Another player making a difference was Kendal Marcengil, who had five digs, four aces, and a solo block.
West-Oak has been on a roll lately: they've won 26 of their last 31 games, dating back to last year. That gives them a 17-4 record this season. As for Pendleton, they are now 12-7, having gone 1-2 since their five-game winning streak ended.
