The Fairfield Lions will be playing at home against the Westfall Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The pair are out to turn their luck around after having lost tight contests in their previous games.
Fairfield fought the good fight in their overtime game against Fayetteville-Perry on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Rockets by a score of 49-46. While losing is never fun, Fairfield can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 502nd, while Fayetteville-Perry is ranked 233rd).
Meanwhile, it was a hard-fought matchup, but Westfall had to settle for a 37-35 defeat against Huntington on Friday.
Fairfield's defeat dropped their record down to 8-14. As for Westfall, they have not been sharp recently as the team has lost 11 of their last 13 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-17 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Fairfield against Westfall in their previous meeting back in February of 2022 as the team secured a 49-18 victory. Does Fairfield have another victory up their sleeve, or will Westfall turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
